Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) is a program contracted with MDHHS that provides intensive in-home prevention services to high-risk families. Solution-Focused strategies are used to help families identify their strengths and build Protective Factors to help families develop resilience and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect. 

The FTBS office is located in Sault Ste Marie, travel to homes in the 5-county area required, some work can be completed from home. Position includes weekly supervision and team meetings, ongoing training, and a supportive work environment. This is a full-time position with flexible hours.

Compensation:

No less than $19.02/hr based on experience and education with annual merit and cost of living increases and travel reimbursement. A phone and laptop computer are also provided. UP Kids provides an excellent benefit package including vacation, sick, and holiday pay and excellent health insurance or waiver payments for those who decline health coverage.

Position provides flexible work hours and opportunity to work with a great team! Extensive training provided, but prior experience working with families and/or working in the field of child welfare is preferred.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field (Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, etc...) OR if actively working towards a Bachelor's degree to be completed within one year of hire, an Associate's Degree or it's equivalent combined with two year's  experience working with children and/or families can be accepted.
  
• Reliable Transportation and Valid Driver’s License
• Criminal Background Checks

• Strength-based, positive outlook, ability to engage and motivate people
• Ability to work as a team member and manage time independently
• Ability to write concise, objective progress notes and reports
• Commitment to staying in the Eastern Upper Peninsula highly desired.
